Installed large quantity of specialized monopitch roof lights to Al Tayer Motors Showroom and workshop in Sharjah (UAE) The glazing supplied are made up of translucent silica containing 95% air, Lumira aerogel is inserted into the flutes of multiwall polycarbonate glazing sheet. By its nature, aerogel works to deliver an impressive combination of daylighting benefits for a more pleasant and comfortable internal environment. This allows architects and specifies greater design freedom to realize architectural vision for desirable daylight levels in residential, commercial, retail, health and educational facilities. For installers too, it is structurally less demanding because a 25mm twin wall polycarbonate sheet filled with Lumira aerogel weighs 5.3kg/m2 when compared to glass double glazing which can weigh as much as 30kg/m2.
